MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA "In September of 2006 our band released our first album independently by means of printing up 2000 copies. Anyone that wanted to purchase it would have to see us live; until Eric came around. Criminal Records essentially became our retailer. It was the first record store to not only carry our record but also served as our CD warehouse, sending albums everywhere from Australia to Florida. When Eric would run out of records we would drive another box of 30 up to Criminal. All of this to say, Criminal Records was not just a record store, it was a launching pad not just for us but for so many bands across the country. We are proud to release this in store session which took place in April of 2009, the day before our second album came out. The growth of our band between those albums would not be possible without Criminal Records and hopefully our performance shows the gratitude in which we played it."--Andy Hull
Lori Scacco
“At Criminal Records, I have been: a customer, a manager, a Seely, a cd filer, a student of music, a teller of stories, a fan, and a friend. Over the years they’ve brought so much goodness to the community and they’ve supported my music in all its incarnations. I’m psyched to contribute an exclusive alternate track from my upcoming solo record currently in the works. I will always be involved with these guys in one way or another (Criminal Records imprint!), so let’s help keep the love alive!” --Lori Scacco
Death On Two Wheels"I moved to Atlanta in 2001 and have been a Criminal Records supporter
ever since. For ten years it's been my go-to spot for the music and
art that I care most about. It's really the only place that I can
find it. And if I can't find it, they'll help me find it, order it,
and have it for my own. They give back also, it's a community of music
lovers sharing and supporting one another. I can't count on my
fingers how many amazing shows I've seen there, Those Darlins,
Mastodon, Janelle Monae, Manchester Orchestra, and on and on, and all
of them free of charge. They've always supported us and we'll always
do the same."

Noot D'NootI don't know how Bimbi Smoofus and Dream Sanitation do it, they rock a house party at the drop of a hat, creating the newest Country Crunk, Astro Groove Super Jamz, 'til the break of down and still wake up in the morning to serve us our coffee. Would you like to hear a never before heard song? Check out "Main Sequence" And How about three tracks from a blistering in-store one time in 2010. Thanks boys.
Fran CapitanelliFran, you know, Fran. Yeah, that Fran, from behind the counter at Crim or Aurora and on-stage with the Tom Collins, Tenement Halls or most currently, as Butch Walker's main axe-man as a member of the Black Widows. Kave Talk, Fran's long in coming solo debut is coming out in October via our own Criminal Records imprint. Here's the lead-off single, "My Favorite Jeans," you can pre-order the LP +
Digital or CD now. Also available, Butch Walker's New Release Spade.
CarnivoresPhilip hung around Criminal Records and Aurora for so many years that I got tired of him wasting all my staff's time so I hired him. He asked how the Carnivores could help and offered us this unreleased gem. "Lindsay You're Dehydrated" is awesome track for us, "It was a pretty fun tour punk song of ours circa fall 2010-winter 2011. It's all yours for the site. Viva la Criminal! Thanks buddy!”
Thank you Philip, now get back to work.
Em Kempf
For Record Store Day 2011, Em Kempf took the stage without her
backing band The Back Pockets for a rare solo turn.
These tracks, "Break Up Song" & "Fame" appear here in their rawest
form, with Em stomping on the stage like a kick drum, Gage on bass and
Lam on the fiddle. Check out the drastically different and unique versions on the Back
Pockets new CD, Fast Cloud, Slow Cloud.
Anna Kramer and the Lost Cause
Anna & the boys play both kinds of music. Rock and country. You might also
recognize all three from their lengthy terms of service at both Criminal Records &
Aurora Coffee. These two live gifts are from our very first Record Store Day in
2008, Anna's debut CD is still available here.
Social StudiesZano Bathroom, otherwise known as Zano, as in "Zano, who would win in a fight Superman or the Incredible Hulk?" Using various techniques, Zano would show you grapic novels, comics & toys, to make whatever his case might be, probably Superman. Or he would rap about it, with Chris Devoe (yes, another Aurora family member) providing the beats as Social Studies. When asked about Saving Criminal Records, Zano said, "We shall. Over drums."
